Sami Mostafa

Every Nur that was given as guidance for the Sahabah was from the Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, and his teachings; and the Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, was on clear teachings from His Lord and guidance "Taught to him by one intense in strength" (53:5)
"And indeed, you are of a great moral character." (68:4)

The Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, was sent for all mankind and all of time, his sunnah remains firm and we only need to emulate those teachings and hikma in our lives. "Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah , then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."" (3:31).

"And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not know." (34:28)

The Sahabah continued in his way after them and taught from the Nur that was perfected in them from him. They had attained the Pleasure of Allah and they were pelased with Him. They continued leading and exemplifying the Prophet's (pbuh) manner after the Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, died.

"O you who have believed, be supporters of Allah , as when Jesus, the son of Mary, said to the disciples, "Who are my supporters for Allah ?" The disciples said, "We are supporters of Allah ." And a faction of the Children of Israel believed and a faction disbelieved. So We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant." (61:14).

So the Sahabah followed in his footsteps and lead us in his sunnah. As such, they are the rightly Guided Caliphas.
"Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful." (3:144)

When a matter needs to be resolved, the solution must first be directed to Allah and Messenger. Allah has sent us this book for us to be guided with.
"Alif, Lam, Meem.
This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah -" (2:1-2)

And the Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, was the walking Qur'an and the one to whom the Wahy was sent to. He is our Prophet and our Messenger, sent to all of mankind. If a matter is in need of more clarification, at that point do you follow those who are in charge of you and who hold authority in respect to the Deen; and the matter remains and continues to be with Allah and His Messenger, there is no room for innovations of one's own self or of that of the community.
"O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result." (4:59).

If a solution is given to us directly by Allah and His Messenger, there is no need to look beyond that. If you do, then it is a sign that there is not complete belief in Allah and His Guidance.
"The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."" (2:285).

The Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, was not an innovator, nor was one to follow his own desires in judging a matter. He had the most Taqwa and therefore his actions are what we should intend to emulate. We cannot be better than the Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, and we should put our judgement before or after his, he was sent by Allah and was a complete Nur from Him.
"The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in the position of] their mothers. And those of [blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of Allah than the [other] believers and the emigrants, except that you may do to your close associates a kindness [through bequest]. That was in the Book inscribed." (33:6)

"The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger and, when they are [meeting] with him for a matter of common interest, do not depart until they have asked his permission. Indeed, those who ask your permission, [O Muhammad] - those are the ones who believe in Allah and His Messenger. So when they ask your permission for something of their affairs, then give permission to whom you will among them and ask forgiveness for them of Allah . Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (24:62)

"The only statement of the [true] believers when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them is that they say, "We hear and we obey." And those are the successful." (24:51)
