Zaid ibn Alqam reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would supplicate, “O Allah, I seek refuge in you from disability, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, weakness, and the punishment of the grave. O Allah, grant my soul a sense of righteousness and purify it, for you are the best purifier. You are the Protector and Guardian. O Allah, I seek refuge in you from knowledge which does not benefit, from a heart that does not fear Allah, from a soul that is not content, and from a supplication that is not answered.”

عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ اللَّهُمَّ آتِ نَفْسِي تَقْوَاهَا وَزَكِّهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلاَهَا اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دَعْوَةٍ لاَ يُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا
