When Allah asked Iblis "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?", Iblis responded by justifying his disobedience to Allah "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
And when Adam ate from the tree, he said, "O my Lord! I have wronged myself, and if you do not forgive us and have mercy on us we shall be from those who are destroyed."

No matter what sin you are struggling with, acknowledge your own weakness and turn to Allah for help and forgiveness, as your father Adam did. But never try to justify your sins, for then you truly would be following the path of the accursed one, Shaytan.'
