"Ali reported that the Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) used to make du'a with the following, "O Allah! Guide me to the most perfect of manners, for none can guide to the most perfect of manners other than You! And turn away from me the worst of manners, for none can turn them away other than You!" [Reported by Muslim].

And once, a Kitabi made a snide remark directed against the Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam), to which Aisha responded by rebuking him and invoking Allah's curse on him. The Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said to her, "O Aisha! Never is gentleness present in anything except that it beautifies it, and never is harshness present in anything except that it disfigures it."

If our noble Prophet (SAW) himself regularly asked Allah for perfect his manners - and he was the most perfect of humans! - how much more are we in need of regularly asking Allah for the best of manners?!"
