Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to his uncle when he was dying, “Say there is no God but Allah and I will testify for you on the Day of Resurrection.” Abu Talib said, “Were it not for the Quraish blaming me and saying I only did so out of anxiety, I would have delighted your eyes.” Then Allah revealed the verse, “Verily, you cannot guide those whom you love but rather Allah guides whom he wills.” (28:56)
