Raising Men:
"Men who want to remain boys" is a reflection on why so many men refuse to accept the responsibilities of marriage. It stems from a refusal to grow up. Many young men are never given responsibility when they are younger and are spoiled by their parents. These spoilt boys end up remaining boys when the time comes for marriage and are not ready or equipped for the challenges of marital life like paying bills, dealing with emotions and playing the role of a father or husband.
As parents,we are required to raise our boys to become men. Having firm goals about the level of responsibility we want our young boys to develop and raising them in a way in which they attain these goals.
These include teaching young boys to clean up after themselves, take care of their younger siblings, serve their elders, earn and save money and assist with the grocery shopping. These simple tasks train a young man for married life and will go a long way in raising a new generation of men who have what it takes to make a marriage work. Abu Muawiyah Ismail Kamdar
