Abu Dharr reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, which deed is best?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Faith in Allah and jihād in his way.” I said, “Which slave is the best to free?” The Prophet said, “One who is valuable to his master and whose price is high.” I said, “What if I cannot afford to do that?” The Prophet said, “Help a craftsman or make something for those without skills.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, you see I am too weak to do some of these deeds.” The Prophet said, “Restrain your evil from people, for it will be charity on your behalf.”
